ArtLife Residency & Alumni

The ArtLife Residency program fostered d/Deaf and disabled artists with big ideas and bold ambitions to realise their professional goals. Working with dedicated facilitating artists and the support of the Footscray Community Arts Programming team, ArtLife Residents honed their skills, created portfolios, and worked towards ambitious and high-impact public outcomes.

Megan Hunter

Megan Hunter is a Melbourne Installation and visual artist based in Western Melbourne.

Madeleine Webster

Madeleine Webster is a visual artist whose work reimagines classic fairytales through the lens of her own life experiences, particularly her school years.

Vickie Lock

Vickie Lock is a multidisciplinary artist whose experimental practice explores themes of urban decay, mould, and the cyclical nature of life.

Tania Rasen

Tania Rasen is a figurative and abstract painter working primarily with watercolour, acrylic, and ink on paper.

Sue E Armstrong

Sue E Armstrong is a Melbourne-based political and abstract artist whose practice centers on themes of equality, activism, and social change.

Emily Dober is a painter and illustrator whose figurative works centre on the female form as portrayed in magazines and advertisements.

Thomas is a contemporary surrealist artist with a degree in industrial design.

Ibby Ibrahim (Alumni)

A prolific photographer, illustrator and origami-maker, Ibby Ibrahim uses well-known superheroes to tell stories which reflect his perspectives on social movements.
